Wolfgang Bauer

President, MSU Foundation and Associate Vice President for Administration, Michigan State University

Dr. Wolfgang Bauer serves as Associate Vice President for Administration at Michigan State University, and he is also President of the MSU Foundation. He obtained his Ph.D. in physics in 1987 and has been on the faculty at MSU since 1988. He was named University Distinguished Professor in 2007. From 2001 to 2013 he was Chairperson of the Department of Physics and Astronomy, and in 2009 he also became Founding Director of the Institute for Cyber-Enabled Research. Dr. Bauer has co-authored several textbooks, which were translated into German, Spanish, Portuguese, Korean, and Chinese languages. In 2017/18 he led the effort to create the MSU Mobility Plan.
