General Director, Center for Connectivity and Telecommunications Infrastructure, Mexico City
Zaira serves as General Director of the Center for Connectivity and Telecommunications Infrastructure of Mexico City. In this role, she leads the development of the connectivity model for Mexico City that aims to reduce the digital gap between the government and citizens by extending coverage, improving the quality and reducing the costs of telecom services. She is also working on a new legal framework to regulate and leverage the government’s telecom infrastructure to better align services with needs, optimize resources and commercialize surplus.
Before joining the government of Mexico City, Zaira worked almost 7 years as Senior Associate at ASD, a specialized law firm in telecommunications and broadcasting based in Mexico City, where she provided expert guidance in wholesale shared networks and mobile and fixed networks in Mexico and abroad. In this role, she was part of the executive team of the Red Compartida Project, the recipient of the 2017 ICT Excellence Award granted by the World Information Technology & Services Alliance (WITSA). She earned her JD at UNAM (National Autonomous University of Mexico).
